Laid on one of the widest and suggestive valleys of the Amalfi Coast, Maiori, a town rich in history and nature, offers many opportunities to its guests. From the leisure with its long sandy beach to the trekking, through the paths of the Monti Lattari Park, surrounded by lemon orchards, olive trees and Mediterranean scrub.

In the small town of Maiori, in spite of a profound transformation occurred during the ‘60s-‘70s, it is still possible to admire the ancient ruins of San Sebastiano wall dating back to the 9th century; The Abbey of Santa Maria de Olearia, with its ancient frescoes; The Thoro Plano Castle, that has been scene of clashes between the maritime republics of Amalfi and Pisa, and the watchtowers built all the way along the Amalfi Coast.

There are numerous churches of remarkable artistic value. Among the most important, The Santa Maria a Mare Cathedral with its sacred art museum and the church dedicated to San Francesco. The 18th century Mezzacapo Palace with the adjacent garden is another pleasant place to visit.

Maiori is a perfect starting point to reach and visit, in a very short time, Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, just few miles far away, connected by ferries and public bus. Also easy to reach, just an hour away, are the famous archeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Velia, Oplontis, in addition to the cities of Naples and Salerno.

How to reach us:

By car from North Italy: take the motorway A1 Milan-Naples and continue until you reach Naples. Hence, take the motorway A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria and exit at Vietri sul Mare, than reach the SS163. Vietri sul Mare is 16 km from Maiori, with a journey time of approximately 30’.

By car from South Italy: take the motorway A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit at Vietri sul Mare and continue on SS163. Maiori is 16 km from the exit, with a drive journey of approximately 30’.

By train: just exit from the Salerno train Station of “Piazza Vittorio Veneto”, the nearest bus stop is nearby the station where SITA bus connect Salerno to Maiori and Amalfi. Salerno is 20 km from Maiori, with a journey time of approximately 45’.

By plane: The Alibus service connects the Capodichino Airport to the Naples train station, from there you can reach Salerno by SITA bus or by regional train.

By SITA Bus form Salerno: SITA bus connects the Amalfi Coast with Salerno, Naples and Sorrento. To travel on SITA buses you need a ticket to validate on board, it can be bought in all the bars, newsstands and tobacco shops, the nearest bus stop is Maiori center, 30 m from La Residenza.
